Anikanoni_gregg_12914800_600 Barack and Michelle Obama becoming the first black U.S. president and first lady in history?

Small potatoes.

Tony Award-winning "Dreamgirls" actress Anika Noni Rose will be Princess Tiana, Disney’s first black princess, in “The Princess and the Frog,” a fairy tale every woman can no doubt identify with.

"This feels amazing," said Rose, 36, at the New York Y launch of the toy line for the animated film. "Not only is she the first black princess, she’s the first American princess," Rose tells People. "We’ve never had an American princess. So, the scope and the significance is larger than people even realize."

The film, set in New Orleans, will also feature Oprah as the voice of Rose’s mother.

Perfect casting.

Don’t expect Rose to go all "Enchanted" like Amy Adams just yet.

"I’m not, like, skipping down the street with it," she said, "but when you take a moment and you think about the fact that this is what America has chosen to put out as princess-hood, princess-dom, it’s amazing."
