Is it possible for anyone to be broodier than Batman or Superman in the new “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” trailer?
Yes, as the people at Screen Junkies point out. Fanboys can be, and now they are being called on it.
The “Honest Teaser” version of the “Batman v. Superman” clip takes the opportunity to poke fun at the DC Comics fans who have been up in arms ever since Ben Affleck was announced as the Dark Knight taking on Henry Cavil’s Man of Steel.
“Get ready to debate a teaser that will probably generate more drama than the movie itself,” the Screen Junkies announcer says in the voiceover. It then picks apart the moodiness of the trailer and the fanboy arguments for why this is the greatest or worst movie DC could make.
While the honest teaser may sting some and make others laugh, it does make a few valid points: “Rush to Justice League” is a more accurate subtitle than “Dawn of Justice”; the teaser does pale in comparison to “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”; but Ben Affleck’s Batman voice is definitely better than Christian Bale’s in “The Dark Knight” trilogy.
