The Beatles are arguably the biggest, most influence musical act of all time, certainly of the last 100 years. So what would a Beatles 2.0 look like? It has certainly crossed the mind of James McCartney, son of Paul, pictured above, far left.
In an interview with the BBC, McCartney is asked about forming The Beatles – The Next Generation, with Sean Lennon (second left), Dhani Harrison (second right) and Zak Starkey (Ringo Starr’s son, far right). McCartney responds, “I don’t think it’s something that Zak wants to do. Maybe Jason [another of Starr’s sons and also drummer] would want to do it. I’d be up for it. Sean seemed to be into it, Dhani seemed to be into it. I’d be happy to do it.”
The interviewer then says, “Has it been mooted,” which means has it been discussed, and McCartney says that it has, “a little bit.”
And when pressed for if it could actually happen, McCartney says, “Yeah, hopefully, naturally. I don’t know, you’d have to wait and see. The will of God, nature’s support, I guess. So yeah, maybe.”
What do you think? Would Beatles fans be excited? Or perhaps it would turn a whole new generation on to the Beatles?
