“Being Human” has it’s shocking finale on April 9, and that term is not used lightly. Someone isn’t going to make it out alive! We chatted with Sam Witwer who plays Aidan the vampire about his pivotal relationship with his lost love, the big finish and what’s coming in Season 3.
“The interesting thing I think about Suren (Dichen Lachman) is it’s a complicated, bad relationship. Aidan is a guy who is kind of drifting, and in a bad moral position. He’s looking to grab any anchor anywhere to gain some stability, and he picks the wrong one. He picks Suren, and you think he should be picking Josh (Sam Huntington) or Sally (Meaghan Rath) and he doesn’t, and it’s because he thinks that he’s no good for them. He thinks that he’s not doing them any good, which is something we get to see more of in the third season.
Josh and Sally have a beautiful moment in the season finale. We asked about Sam and Sally. “With Sally, there was a very cool, almost fatherly vibe with Aidan and Sally. Aidan looking after Sally in the first season, and I’m sure we’ll see more of it, and I’m sure we’ll see the evolution of that. The person who I’d really like to explore what their evolution is is Nora (Kristen Hager). And I want to see how Aidan and Nora interface. I’m certain we’ll see some of that. Let’s be honest. Nora is using Josh to get to Aidan,” he jokes.
We asked about Season Three and what he can tease. “I know there’s one place they’re thinking about going that would be interesting. I shouldn’t tell you what that is, but it is a very cool idea, and um, a very fun story to tell, and I have some ideas of how it could be relevant to what would be happening to him in the third season.” He says that if you re-watch Season One, you’ll get a pretty big clue about what he’s referencing.
One final tease for Season 3? “I think what you will see is these three people finally coming to grips with the fact that they really do actually need each other, all three of them.”
