“Big Brother” announced two new twists for the latest version of everyone’s favorite summer guilty pleasure. We are absolutely on board with one and pretty worried about the other.
The twist we’re excited about is the three nominees change. Frankly, we’re a little surprised “Big Brother” hasn’t instituted this twist sooner. It changes the whole dynamic of the game. First, each Head of Household will be leaving not one but two enemies in the house after someone is evicted, so each HOH is going to be going even crazier as he or she wrestles with who to nominate.
Secondly, it will make things a lot more interesting for the people on the block. Now, a person doesn’t have to get the majority of the votes to stay, but just not be the lowest. It will make the wheeling and dealing perhaps more interesting. Maybe we’re wrong on that point, but it’s an intriguing prospect. Hopefully it plays out in a fun way.
However, the twist we are not on board with is the new MVP voting. We don’t yet know what powers the MVP will have, but asking America to get involved in voting for anything usually spells disaster.
Plus, if the viewers are being asked to vote for who is playing the best game, there is the dangerous possibility that someone is playing a very covert game in the house and the MVP outs him or her. Imagine someone who seems innocuous and not like a gamer, but is secretly playing an awesome game. If America votes him or her MVP, that will immediately raise red flags to the other hamsters.
Twist fail. That is super crappy.
It remains to be seen how it all plays out, but we’re going on record before the premiere as saying three nominees = good and MVP = bad. What do you think, hamster fans?
“Big Brother 15” premieres Wednesday, June 26 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS. Don’t forget to sign up for the live feeds to keep track of all the action all summer long.
