cbs maggie Big changes for CBS' 'The Early Show': Harry Smith and Maggie Rodriguez outOur deepest condolences go out to fans of of CBS’ “The Early Show,” because the morning news broadcast is getting a face-lift. Co-anchors Harry Smith and Maggie Rodriguez and weather forecaster Dave Price are out. So who are their replacements?

CBS is keeping it in the family, promoting Chris Wragge and Erica Hill from the Saturday “Early Show.” Hill, who’s the current news reader for the weekday show, will relinquish those duties to Jeff Glor, Saturday’s “CBS Evening News” anchor and a reporter from “The Early Show.” Finally, Marysol Castro, formerly of ABC’s “Good Morning America” weekend
edition, will take over weather.

“Erica, Chris, Marysol and Jeff are four accomplished broadcasters who already have proven track records and loyal followings,” “Early Show” executive producer David Friedman says. “This group is the perfect combination of intelligence and personality for morning television.”

“The Early Show” has been a perpetual third-place finisher in the network morning-show ratings, trailing NBC’s “Today” and “GMA” by sizable margins.

The new “Early Show” team starts work on Jan. 3.
