Big-Love-Cast.jpg“Big Love,” the Emmy-nominated HBO drama about the polygamous Henrickson family in Utah, will return for its fifth season on Sunday, Jan. 16 — and HBO has announced that Season 5 will be its last.

Creators Mark V. Olsen and Will Scheffer say that the reason for bringing the series to an end now is because as they were shaping the 5th season, they “discovered that [they] were approaching a culmination of the story” that they wanted to tell with “Big Love.”

Michael Lombardo, president of HBO programming, says, “It has been an honor and pleasure to work with series creators Mark V.
Olsen and Will Scheffer on this unique and provocative series, and I’m
happy that they will be able to bring the story to its close the way
they always envisioned. We look forward with great
anticipation to collaborating with Mark and Will on their next venture.”

What do you think, “Big Love” fans? How do you think the Henrickson’s tale will come to an end? And never fear — you can always get your polygamous fix on “Sister Wives.”
