Holiday shopping got off to a rough start for about 20 people at an Los Angeles-area Walmart on Thursday (Nov. 24) after a female customer used pepper spray while bargain hunting.
The attack happened as the retailer was rolling out their holiday sale merchandise kick off the busy shopping season. It’s at this time a woman in the video game section fired off pepper spray at fellow shoppers. KTLA is reporting that several people were treated for minor injuries including skin and eye irritation.
“This was customer-versus-customer ‘shopping rage,'” Los Angeles Police Lt. Abel Parga tells the L.A. Times.
The woman fled the scene after the incident. Police are attempting secure surveillance video in hopes to track her down and arrest her.
