Rock band Bloodhound Gang came under fire after a recent performance in Odessa, Ukraine, where bass guitarist Jared Hasselhoff said (among other things), “Don’t tell Putin!” and put the Russian flag into his pants between his legs. The video is above.
Russia is not happy.
“Talked to Krasnodar territory leadership. Bloodhound Gang packing suitcases. These idiots won’t perform in Kubana,” CNN reports that Russian Minister of Culture Vladimir Medinsky wrote on Twitter Friday, referring to a music festival in Russia where the band was scheduled to perform over the weekend.
A member of the band’s crew tells CNN that the band was then attacked Saturday by a group of men, who punched and kicked the band and their crew members. There were also reports the attackers threw eggs and tomatoes. No one was seriously injured and a Russian guard is now accompanying them as they wait for the next flight out.
Hasselhoff apologized for the incident in a press conference and the band has taken a flight to Moscow, though there is no word yet as to when they will head back to the U.S.
