It’s official! The ailing Bret Michaels has made it to the live “The Celebrity Apprentice” finale in New York City. On the way, his private jet had to make a detour to Nashville because Michaels was experiencing pain and discomfort.
Still, he got back on the plane and will be at Donald Trump’s board room table in front of a live studio audience tonight (May 23) to face off against Holly Robinson Peete for $250,000 for charity. A source close to the show tells TMZ that there is definitely a medical
staff at the live taping tonight … “ready in case anything happens.”
Zap2it readers are divided on whether or not Bret made the right decision. Taeylor on Facebook wrote, “If Trump were any kind of tactful person he would encourage Bret to do it via satellite! Good lord.”
Meanwhile, RockOnWithYourBadSelf wrote, “Awesome! No, he didn’t need to fly to New York to be there in person,
but it’s pretty obvious that this means a LOT to him. Not just to win
the $ for his charity, but to have Donald Trump tell him he’s a
champion. For a rocker to be told by Donald Trump that he’s a good
businessman is ‘YUGE!”
Bret, a life-long Type 1 diabetic with a borderline diabetic daughter, is competing for the American Diabetes Association. Holly is competing for her HollyRod Foundation for autism research in honor of her son, Rodney.
