brett favre jenn sterger Brett Favre fined by NFL for 'failing to cooperate' in nude photo scandal

This is probably not how Brett Favre imagined ending his career.
The famed quarterback was fined $50,000 by the National Football League on Wednesday (Dec. 29) for failing to cooperate in the investigation following a lewd photo scandal. Favre allegedly sent graphic text messages and photos to Jets employee, Jenn Sterger in 2008 during his short stint with the team.
Luckily for the famously indecisive athlete, the league found no evidence that his behavior towards the former game-day hostess violated their policy regarding workplace conduct. This begs the question: If penis pictures are okay, what does violate workplace conduct?
However, he won’t get off scot-free.
In a statement released by the NFL, Commissioner Goodell determined that “Favre was not candid in several respects during the investigation, resulting in a longer review and additional negative public attention for Favre, Sterger, and the NFL.”
Adding, “Commissioner Goodell stated to Favre that if he had found a violation of the league’s workplace conduct policies, he would have imposed a substantially higher level of discipline.”
According to the NY Times, the investigation included an analysis of public reports, a series of interviews, a review of communications between Favre and Sterger as well a forensic analysis of electronically stored material.
We imagine the electronically stored material must include the infamous photo of Favre’s “little friend” as published by Deadspin.
Sterger has posed for some pictures of her own, including spreads for Maxim and Playboy.
Way to go out with a bang! Part of us wishes Favre just retired earlier, but then we might have missed all this scandal — totally worth it.
