There have been reports swirling that the latest issue at NBC is that newsman Brian Williams is angry with NBC because his weekly news program “Rock Center” was moved to Friday nights to make room for “Do No Harm,” a show that was pulled after two dismally-rated episodes.
THR wrote an article detailing NBC’s troubles, where Marisa Guthrie writes, “NBC brass might have upset Williams with the move. He closed ‘Rock Center’ on Feb. 8 with a segment characterizing Friday as its ‘latest resting place.'”
Sources at NBC News say Williams was angered that the network did not give his show its promised promotion and that there are no longer plans to expand the show to multiple airings each week.
The THR piece points out that “Rock Center” earns ratings that are downright hearty when compared with “Do No Harm.”
However, Alexandra Wallace, executive producer for “Rock Center,” tells the Huffington Post in a statement:
“Brian’s take on our new time slot was truly funny and the furthest
thing from ‘angry.’ He made light of our travels through the schedule
— and we are all thrilled by Rock Center’s strong ratings after our
Friday night debut. We look forward to settling down in our new home.”
