It pays to have a dad in the same industry you want to join. Thanks to David Beckham, his 13-year-old son Brooklyn Beckham got a tryout with London soccer club Chelsea.
According to the Associated Press, Brooklyn played in an under-14 game at the Chelsea training facility. Though 13 seems a bit young for someone to sign on to a soccer team, many clubs do sign young players to their youth academies to train them for the professional leagues. David made his debut for Manchester United when he was only 17, and it seems like his son might follow in his footsteps — albeit with a rival team.
Brooklyn has already started his soccer league training. When his father was playing for the Los Angeles Galaxy, Brooklyn was a member of the Galaxy youth team. Daily Mail has pictures of Brooklyn training at Chelsea FC.
Of course, Brooklyn isn’t the only Beckham child following in his parents’ footsteps. Romeo Beckham, 10, has starred in Burberry’s Spring/Summer 2013 ad campaign, and reportedly wants to follow a career in male modeling.
