chris brown rogers communications pulls sponsorship gi Canadian company pulls sponsorship after Chris Brown joins concert

Rogers Communications has pulled its sponsorship of a Canadian concert series after Chris Brown was announced as part of the lineup. The move came in response to complaints from customers via social media.

According to TMZ, Rogers — one of the largest telecommunications companies in Canada — pulled its support for the Energy Rush concert series shortly after Brown’s inclusion. A spokesman for Rogers Communication made the following statement: “In light of today’s announcement, we’re withdrawing our sponsorship of the event. Rogers agreed to sponsor Energy Rush prior to Chris Brown’s choice as a performer.”

Energy Rush is a concert series set to take place in the Canadian cities of Winnipeg, Toronto and Halifax on Aug. 29-31. As of right now, the concert website lists Chris Brown as a headliner, but other information on musical acts remains unavailable. Rogers remains on the site as the sponsor for the Halifax concert on Aug. 31. That city’s radio station associated with the event says that ticket sales will commence on July 17.
