carrie ann inaba season 12 Carrie Ann Inaba promises plenty of 'So You Think You Can Dance' alums in ABC pilot, 'Grace'Not content being the even-tempered voice of reason on the “Dancing With the Stars” judges’ panel, Carrie Ann Inaba is now eying a future producing scripted television.

The dancer and choreographer currently has an ABC pilot in the works with “Grey’s Anatomy” executive producer Krista Vernoff called “Grace” — and it finds her in the familiar world of dance.

Zap2it chatted with Inaba after the premiere of “DWTS,” and in addition to divulging her favorites for Season 12, she gave us a status update on the new project.

“We’re actually shooting right now,” she says. “Eric Roberts is our lead and he plays this dysfunctional choreographer who has three daughters by different mothers — one of whom is Debbie Allen.”

Even saying the name seems to be something of a religious experience for Inaba. “That was an ‘aaaaah’ moment,” she says, gesturing to the heavens. “‘Fame’ set the path for what I do in my life, and now that I’ve hired Debbie Allen to be in our pilot, it’s pretty surreal.”

But it’s the not-so-famous cast members that might get fans riled up about the potential series. “We’ve hired all these dancers from ‘So You Think You Can Dance,’” says Inaba. “All those poor kids, they learn all this great dancing and then there’s no job for them, so we’ve provided them with one.”

There’s no confirmation on which “SYTYCD” alums to expect from the pilot, but they won’t likely be anyone Mia Michaels isn’t a fan of. The Emmy-winner and frequent “SYTYCD” judge serves as the “Grace” choreographer.
