The New York City townhouse that served as the exterior of Carrie Bradshaw’s apartment for several seasons of “Sex and the City” has been sold for a cool $9.85 million.
The home on Perry Street in the West Village went for $200,000 more than its $9.65 million asking price, The New York Observer reports. It’s the second time in six months the property has changed hands, having sold for $9 million in November 2011. The identities of both buyer and seller are unknown at the moment; corporations are listed on both ends of the transaction.
For his or her nearly $10 million the buyer gets 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, an eat-in kitchen and a sun room in about 4,100 square feet, spread over four floors and a basement (there’s also a back yard). And presumably lots of tourists taking pictures too — “SATC” featured dozens of scenes of Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) on the building’s front stoop in its early seasons. (The show fudged the building’s real location, saying it was on the Upper East Side.)
The building was also featured in Woody Allen‘s film “Alice,” and “Project Runway’s” Tim Gunn once lived in an apartment there.
