Snoopdogg_290 Casting news from around the TV world, including a pair of new sitcoms, another comedy in its second year and HBO’s probably-not-comedic movie about Dr. Jack Kevorkian:

Snoop Dogg will guest star in an episode of FOX’s new comedy “Brothers” in the fall. The rapper, reality-show star and sometime actor will play a character named “Kenny the Lawyer” in an episode that’s scheduled to air in October. The show stars former NFL Pro Bowler Michael Strahan as a retired athlete who falls on hard times and moves back home with his combative brother (Darryl “Chill” Mitchell) and their parents (CCH Pounder and Carl Weathers).

Snoop has made a number of TV appearances in the past 10 years; his most recent guest gig on a live-action scripted series was an episode of “Monk” in 2007.

– Another freshman sitcom, ABC’s “Hank,” has added Sasha Pieterse to its cast. She’ll play the teenage daughter of Kelsey Grammer and Melinda McGraw’s characters, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Pieterse starred in The WB’s short-lived “Family Affair” remake in 2002 and has more recently guested on “Without a Trace” and “CSI: Miami.”

– “Drop Dead Diva” star Brooke D’Orsay is joining the cast of “Gary Unmarried” at CBS.

D’Orsay will play the manager of a radio station who crosses paths with Gary (Jay Mohr), the HR says. The station also employs another new regular, Keegan Michael Key.

In addition to Lifetime’s “Drop Dead Diva,” D’Orsay has appeared on “Happy Hour,” “Psych” and “How I Met Your Mother.”

– Danny Huston (“Wolverine,” “John Adams”) will star opposite Al Pacino in “You Don’t Know Jack,” HBO’s movie about assisted-suicide advocate Dr. Jack Kevorkian. The HR says Huston will play Kevorkian’s feisty lawyer, Geoffrey Fieger. The movie also stars Susan Sarandon and John Goodman.
