Charlize Theron is taking on Arab-American relations.
Theron has signed on to play the title role in an adaptation of Christopher Buckley’s 2005 novel “Florence of Arabia,” according to Variety. The story follows Florence, a U.S. State Department employee who tries to spur women’s rights in the Middle East after her friend there is executed. Despite that grim setup, the novel is a satire.
Theron will also produce.
Crew will play a mysterious woman opposite Zac Efron in “Charlie St. Cloud.” Efron will take the title role, a cemetary worker haunted since accidentally killing his brother in a car crash 15 years earlier. Charlie can see dead people, of course, so his brother keeps him company… and Crew’s love interest may just be a ghost as well.
