– Japanese actor Hiroyuki Sanada will be part of “Lost’s” final season. Details of his role are being kept under wraps, but both EW and The Hollywood Reporter say he’ll play an important part in several episodes.
Sanada, who’s starred in dozens of films in Japan and appeared in “The Last Samurai” and “Rush Hour 3” in the States, is the second addition to “Lost” in the past week. John Hawkes of “Deadwood” will also have a recurring role, playing a character named Lennon.
– The fifth episode of “Law & Order: SVU” is going to be a jam-packed one. In addition to Perez, late of “Lipstick Jungle” and “Pineapple Express,” the episode will feature Garret Dillahunt (“Deadwood,” “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles”), Jim True-Frost (“The Wire”) and Broadway star Mitchell Jarvis in guest roles. It also marks the return of Stephanie March as ADA Alex Cabot and features Jeri Ryan reprising her role as lawyer Patrice Larue.
The episode is called “Hardwired” and stars Perez as the mother of a sexually abused child who suspects the kid’s stepfather (True-Frost). Dillahunt will play the leader of a group that argues pedophilia is a genetic disposition.
– “Game of Thrones,” based on George R.R. Martin’s “Song of Fire and Ice” novels, has added “Virtuality” and “New Amsterdam” star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and several other actors to an already sizable cast.
Coster-Waldau will play one of the king’s guards, a man who helped overthrow the previous ruler, the HR says. The other additions include Tamzin Merchant (“The Tudors”), Richard Madden, Sophie Turner, Alfie Allen, Iain Glen and Maisie Williams. They join “Lord of the Rings” star Sean Bean, Mark Addy, Jennifer Ehle and Peter Dinklage in the cast.
The pilot is scheduled to film in Ireland in the fall.
