CBS has set a premiere date for “Live to Dance,” its Paula Abdul-fronted dance competiton. The show will have a two-hour premiere Tuesday, Jan. 4, then slide into the “Survivor” spot at 8 p.m. Wednesdays starting Jan. 5 — where it will probably oppose Abdul’s old show, “American Idol,” for at least a few weeks. “Saturday Night Live” will have Scarlett Johansson and Anne Hathaway as hosts for new episodes in Novemer. Johansson will host the Nov. 13 show with musical guest Arcade Fire, and Hathaway will be joined by Florence + The Machine on Nov. 20. [NBC]
FX’s “Justified” and Showtime’s “Shameless” have each added a recurring actor to their casts. Joseph Lyle Taylor (“100 Centre Street”) is joining “Justified” as one the recently cast Jeremy Davies’ brothers, and Vanessa Bell Calloway (“Hawthorne”) will play the mother of one of William H. Macy’s kids in “Shameless.” [Hollywood Reporter]
In other casting news, HBO’s Judd Apatow-produced comedy pilot, written by and starring Lena Dunham, has added three people to its cast. Jemima Kirke and Allison Williams (the daughter of NBC News anchor Brian Williams) will star as Dunham’s best friends, while Adam Driver will play Dunham’s sometime boyfriend. [Deadline]
Sunset Strip tourist trap The Saddle Ranch Chop House will be the setting for a VH1 reality show. “Saddle Ranch” will follow the Hollywood aspirations and workaday issues faced by some members of the restaurant’s wait staff. [The Live Feed]
