Actor Lou Diamond Phillips is one of eight celebrity chef-testants taking part in Rachael Ray vs. Guy Fieri‘s “Celebrity Cook-Off,” which debuts Sunday night, Jan. 1, at 9 p.m. ET on the Food Network.
Lou’s Quick Bite, “I’m definitely going to teach my four daughters how to cook.”
Lou’s All-Star Technique:
“To boost the flavor of my lasagna, I added thawed, drained frozen spinach into the ricotta – it gives the cheese a great new texture and taste.”
Lou’s Bizarre-But-Delicious Experiment:
“I made a wonderful basil drizzle for the first time ever, and I was going to gild the lily by pouring it over fried chicken. Rach came running over and was like, ‘Get that off there!’ She was right, it was too much. But I bet it would have tasted great.”
Lou before the show, “I used the stuff from the can to make sloppy joes.”
And now, “The can is gone! My new secret weapon: homemade Wild Turkey bourbon barbecue sauce. Yeah, it’s good.”
