Ryan Murphy has already promised that every single “Glee” cast member who wants to return for Season 4 will have the opportunity to come back. Exciting! Now, some even better news — Chord Overstreet, who left “Glee” after not being brought on full time in Season 3 only to return a half season later, will likely be promoted to series regular for Season 4.
It’s about time! Sam has proved an integral character to the show, and an important figure for the New Directions. Besides — with Finn graduating, there’s plenty of room for a QB/leader-type in the choir room.
“I’ve never heard my grade mentioned, so who knows,” Overstreet told Zap2it in January of the possibility of returning in Season 4.
Aside from Overstreet, Deadline reports that all 15 series regulars — Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Matthew Morrison, Jane Lynch, Chris Colfer, Naya Rivera, Kevin McHale, Darren Criss, Amber Riley, Jenna Ushkowitz, Jayma Mays, Dianna Agron, Mark Salling, Harry Shum Jr. and Heather Morris — will be back in Season 4, although they might not appear in every episode.
Obviously Michele will be around the most, considering she is without question the star of the show, but how much do you think we’ll see Riley or Shum? Whose storylines do you want to see in Season 4?
Of the other recurring cast members — namely, “Glee Project” Season 1 winners Samuel Larsen and Damian McGinty and Vanessa Lengies — who do you want to come back?
McGinty has made no secret of his desire to return, telling Zap2it in January, “‘Glee’ is entering a really crucial period where the main characters who people have watched the last three years are graduating,” he says. “For me, I’m working hard and I want to become a series regular next year. That’s what I’m aiming towards. Haven’t heard anything yet.”
