Chord1.jpgWhen one door closes, another door opens. Chord Overstreet has left “Glee” behind, but you can catch him on TV this fall – on ABC’s  “The Middle.” Check out the first photo of his “The Middle” character, Ralph Wickerson. He’s Brick’s idealistic fourth grade teacher who goes head-to-head with Frankie and Mike Heck over Brick’s education.

Yes, Sam Evans has graduated and Overstreet is playing a real grown up. Complete with a cardigan. We approve.

Overstreet has noted that he took the role for the opportunity to work with Neil Flynn, so we’re guessing that he got a real kick out of the scene we see above. The episode, called “Hecking Order,” airs on ABC Wednesday, Sept. 28 at 8 p.m. EST.

After his gig on “The Middle,” expect Chord to spend a lot of time in the studio working on his first solo album.
