chris brown canada concerts canceled Chris Brown cancels Canadian concerts after backlash, health concerns

Canadians who were excited to see Chris Brown perform live are out of luck. He was originally scheduled for performances in Halifax, N.S., Saint John, N.B., Toronto and Winnipeg, as part of a summer concert series, but all four concerts have been canceled.
The announcement was made by the promoter of the shows in a press release. Stephen Tobin, owner of Drop Entertainment Group, says the shows have been called off “in light of the performer’s recent personal and health-related issues.” Brown was sentenced to an additional 1,000 hours of community service as part of his reinstated probation Friday (August 16), a week after suffering a seizure while in a recording studio.
The cancellations also come after Halifax mayor Mike Savage spoke out about Brown being scheduled to perform in his city, saying “It makes me kind of sick, to be honest with you,” the Chronicle Herald reports. He went on to say that Brown wasn’t a good role model and that Halifax could do better than bring in “someone who has his violent background to be entertained by.” The announcement that Brown would be headlining a festival in the city also cause Rogers Communications to drop out as a sponsor.
Brown is still scheduled for the I Heart Radio Music Festival in Las Vegas, September 20.

TV words to live by: "I'm a firm believer that sometimes it's right to do the wrong thing."
