chris brown charged hit and run gi Chris Brown has probation revoked in Rihanna assault case, tweets 'My cross is heavy'The road ahead for Chris Brown is bumpy one — and he knows it.

After the Los Angeles County District Attorney filed documents on Monday (June 15) requesting that the troubled singer’s probation, stemming from the 2009 incident when he assaulted then-girlfriend Rihanna, be revoked following a hit-and-run in May, the judge in the case followed suit and did just that.

L.A. County Superior Court Judge James R. Brandlin revoked the probation, but allowed the singer to remain free, pending a future hearing on Aug. 16. On that date, the issue will either be resolved or a further hearing will be set to determine whether a punishment is warranted — and if so, how severe. Brown could face up to four years in jail if he’s punished to the fullest extent.

Prior to the revocation of his probation, Brown tweeted, “I did everything I was suppose to do during the so called hit n run, I provided the correct info. There were no injuries or damages. C’mon!!”

Following the judge’s decision, a new tweet appeared: “My cross is heavy but God gives me the strength to carry it.” Because, of course, none of what is happening to Brown is the result of his own actions, right?
