chuck renewal chances 320 'Chuck': Renewal chances looking better?NBC still hasn’t given the official thumbs-up (or -down) to a fourth season of “Chuck,” but its chances are looking a little brighter.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, NBC Entertainment president Angela Bromstad was asked about the pickup of the new thriller “The Event” and whether it might find a home on Mondays, where NBC has aired its genre shows (“Chuck” and “Heroes”) for the past couple of seasons. Her answer: “We have another genre piece in contention, and we have ‘Chuck.’ We’re going to hash out the schedule over the next week.”

You “have” “Chuck”? As in it’s going to be back in the fall?

Bromstad wouldn’t say definitively but does offer this: “It’s our highest-performing Monday night show [in adults 18-49]. We look at it as a very strong player, and it’s a show that matches up with our new shows. It’s too early for me to say for certain, as it’s a conversation we’re going to have next week.”

Bromstad also says in the interview that she “wouldn’t count anything out” as to the fate of “Heroes,” which had its lowest-rated season in 2009-10. NBC may consider having it share a timeslot with another show to avoid repeats.

NBC will unveil its schedule for next season in a conference call on Sunday (May 16).
