(The first time we met him, we may have done the “rollin’ with the homies” dance. Don’t judge.)

When the opportunity arose for Alicia Silverstone to do an arc on Sisto’s ABC comedy “Suburgatory,” producers jumped at the chance to reunite the “Clueless” kids — but not without checking with Sisto first.

“I was asked before they put the offer out. [Executive producer] Emily Kapnek was kind enough to make sure it was cool — though she probably would’ve been happier if we did have some weird drama,” Sisto joked when we caught up with him at a recent Warner Bros. event.

Any reservations Sisto had weren’t personal — he was concerned about introducing Eden, a new love interest, for a significant arc. “I wasn’t sure how it was going to be for the show, bringing in such a big element, but it’s turned out really great, and I think it’ll be really satisfying for fans of ‘Clueless.'”

The stars aren’t shying away from the ’90s flick — Sisto tells us that SIlverstone’s “Suburgatory” episodes are packed with plenty of references to the movie, including some that the writers managed to sneak past the stars. “After one of the scenes, we’d finished filming, and Alicia was like, ‘Oh! I just got it! I just saw the connection!'” he laughs.

George and Eden definitely have a connection, and it throws a wrench in development between George and Dallas. “It moves pretty quickly. Alicia’s character and the romance really makes it feel like the potential of George and Dallas is falling away, but it’ll rise again — and that’s a dynamic that I think will play out through the rest of the series.”
