This could make for an awkward situation, but they’re handling it like professionals: “The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones” co-stars Jamie Campbell Bower and Lily Collins have split, Us Weekly reports.
The actors, both 24, were first romantically linked in July 2012 while shooting the upcoming blockbuster in Toronto, Canada. “They remain very good friends,” an insider says.
While most people avoid their exes after a break-up, the upcoming release of their movie has forced Bower and Collins to continue working together. Before the Aug. 21 release, they have been on a nationwide press tour that includes mall appearances, television interviews, and more. “They’ve been really good about doing the press tour together for their movie,” the source says. “They were able to stay friendly.”
Both Bower and Collins seem to make a habit out of dating co-stars. Collins previously dated her “Abduction” co-star Taylor Lautner from November 2010 to September 2011, while Bower was engaged to his “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1” co-star Bonnie Wright before splitting in June 2012 after two years together.
“The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones” hits theaters August 21.
