colin vampire gi Colin Firth signs on to play vampire in 'Stoker.' Does this mean vampire movies have un jumped the shark? You know what we could use more of? Movies and TV shows about vampires.

Which we’re certain had something to do with Colin Firth’s decision to follow up his Oscar win for “The King’s Speech” by taking on the role of a bloodsucker in “Stoker.”

According to the Daily Mail, the movie (penned by “Prison Break’s” Wentworth Miller, who sneakily used the alias “Ted Foulke”) tells the story of a girl and her mother who are visited by a mysterious uncle (that would be Firth) who, we assume, turns out to be a bloodsucking fiend.

In a recent BBC interview, Firth said that after his Oscar win he wanted, “to do something that amuses me now that changes the pace, changes the tone, continue my long tradition of making a fool of myself.”

Nicole Kidman and Mia Wasikowska will reportedly co-star in the Chan-wook Park directed film. Park is best known for “The Vengeance Trilogy,” a trio of brutally violent Korean movies centered on revenge and salvation.
