Crystal Renn once carried just 95 pounds on her 5’9” frame. She had moved from her hometown down South to New York City, signed a modeling contract and spent eight years trying to be as thin as possible. After being told she wasn’t thin enough to model, she began eating again and relaunched herself as a “plus-sized” model at size 14.
Now she has been spotted out and about sporting a decidedly thinner frame, though thankfully, it is not a 95-pound one. Her agent, Gary Dakin, tells ABC News, “She reintroduced exercise back into her life after finally feeling she
was ready to. Hiking and yoga are part of her
life now. She is healthy and feels amazing right now.”
Renn also said in an interview posted at the Ford modeling agency website that she cannot maintain the plus-sized frame pictured above, right, in 2009.
“I think that by placing a title on my head, which is ‘plus-size,’ and
then the picture that these people have created in their mind about what
plus-size actually is, I’ve basically failed you just with that.
Because I couldn’t possibly live up to that, and at this point in my
life, I would have to actually have another eating disorder to live up
to that expectation.”
Crystal is also sporting some platinum blonde locks (inset). We say, you go girl. You look terrific.
