csi miami canceled 'CSI: Miami' canceled by CBS but 'CSI: NY' will returnCBS has canceled “CSI: Miami” after 10 seasons, meaning David Caruso has pulled off his last pair of sunglasses.

There will still be two “CSI” shows on the network next season, though, as “CSI: NY,” the youngest member of the franchise, will return alongside the original series.

“‘CSI: Miami’ leaves an amazing television legacy — a signature look and style, global popularity and as a key player in CBS’ rise to the top over the past decade,” the network says in a statement. “We thank all the producers — led by Jerry Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman and Ann Donahue — and its talented cast, led by David Caruso, for 10 outstanding seasons. Viewers around the world will continue to enjoy rebroadcasts of ‘CSI: Miami’ in syndication and on key digital platforms for many years to come.”

Going into this week’s upfronts, the odds favored CBS canceling one of the two “CSI” spinoffs — neither “Miami” nor “NY” were among the 18 shows that were renewed back in March. “Miami” had somewhat better ratings this season, but because it’s two years older than “NY,” it was also more expensive to produce.

CBS will announce its schedule for 2012-13 on Wednesday (May 16).

What do you think of the decision? Did CBS keep the right two “CSI”s?
