jon stewart daily show 320 'Daily Show' off Hulu, 'Access Hollywood' goes live, Miss America homelessIf online viewing is your primary source for “The Daily Show” and “The Colbert Report,” you’ll have one fewer place to watch the two shows starting next week.

Comedy Central’s parent company, Viacom, has decided to pull those two shows from Hulu, one of the go-to sites for full-episode streams of TV shows. The shows will still stream on and

Not surprisingly, the decision to pull the shows comes down to money. Comedy Central says in a statement that “We had a great experience with Hulu,” but several reports say the two sides couldn’t work out financial terms to renew their deal.

“Access Hollywood” will take a shot at the daytime market next fall with a live talk show called, appropriately enough, “Access Hollywood Live.”

The show will have a relatively small launch on NBC-owned stations in six cities (New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Diego, San Francisco and Hartford, Conn.) in September. The Miss America pageant is without a TV home. Again.

Despite drawing 4.5 million viewers for pageant in January — a record since it moved to cable in 2006 — TLC opted not to renew its contract with the Miss America Organization. Starz has picked up an eight-hour miniseries based on Ken Follett’s best-selling novel “The Pillars of the Earth.”

The eight-hour miniseries, scheduled to air this summer, will tell the story of “good and evil, treachery and intrigue, violence and beauty,” as Starz puts it, in 12th century England. The cast includes Rufus Sewell, Ian McShane, Matthew Macfadyen, Hayley Atwell, Donald Sutherland, Alison Pill and Eddie Redmayne. Ridley and Tony Scott are among the executive producers.
