Monday (April 26) night’s “Dancing With the Stars” performance show left Niecy Nash, Jake Pavelka and Evan Lysacek tied in last place with triple sevens across the board (well, at least according to the initial judges’ scores — points received from that random swing dance at the end not included).
So of course it was no big shocker when those three were the last standing on the doomsday podium at the end of the elimination show. Lysacek was declared safe (no big shocker there), and that left Nash and Pavelka in the dreaded Bottom Two.
But it was bye-bye bachelor — and he teared up just like those women he sent packing without a rose.
In Pavelka’s parting words, he declared this “the best season of ‘Dancing With the Stars’ [he’s] ever seen.” Then he thanked Texas (he hails from Denton, Texas) and the Mavericks and all the social media that’s helped sustain him for six weeks. We’re sure Twitter was touched.
Then for the 79th time so far this season, we got to hear a “DWTS” contestant call everyone involved with the show “family,” (did the producers tell them to repeat that in every-single-interview or something?).
Finally, he thanked his partner Chelsea Hightower, calling her one of his “best friends” and saying, “I love you.” Cut to fiancee Vienna looking quite morose.
So now the big question is, will Pavelka finally get back to his “real” job of flying the friendly skies? Or is he going to line up ABC reality show No. 4?
For the record: A previous version of this story
asked if Pavelka was going to line up “ABC reality show No. 3?” However, another ABC show for Pavelka would actually make it No. 4, since he started his reality show relationship with ABC on “The Bachelorette” before returning as “The Bachelor” and then appearing as a contestant on “Dancing With the Stars.” Sorry, Jake … we didn’t mean to short-change you!
