joey fatone kym johnson dwts elimination 'Dancing With the Stars' ousts Joey Fatone: 'The funny is going away'In a surprising upset, Joey Fatone was sent home tonight (Oct. 2) “Dancing With the Stars: All-Stars.”

Although the judges criticized the former ‘N Syncer’s technique in a wildly entertaining Charlie Chaplin-themed quickstep, they scored Fatone and partner Kym Johnson in the middle of a pack.

But fans didn’t pay much attention to the judges’ scores this week: The lowest-scoring couples, Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas and Kirstie Alley
and Maksim Chmerkovskiy, were declared safe.

Joining Fatone and Johnson in jeopardy were two former champions: Kelly Monaco (with Val Chmerkovskiy) and Helio Castroneves (with Chelsie Hightower).

“As long as I didn’t go first, I’m happy,” Fatone told us backstage after the show. (That honor went to Pamela Anderson.)

“We’re not disappointed in what we did,” he added, with Johnson by his side. “We’re disappointed because there were a lot more fun things we wanted to do.”

Fatone has no regrets. “It was fun, it was a blast.” When asked which contestants they’ll support now, he quipped, “Still Joey and Kym regardless.” Johnson agreed: “We’re still going to vote for ourselves!”

Admitting that he does vote for fellow boy bander Drew Lachey (“Drew’s my boy”), Fatone revealed that he also supports Apolo Anton Ohno.

“Believe it or not, I’m a little biased because in my season, Apolo won,” explains his runner-up. “He’s the only one representing [Season 4], so I think he needs to go there as well. Hopefully he’ll be in the top three.”

Fatone’s fellow contestants hate to say farewell to the group’s popular comedian.

“He brought such joy and sense of humor to the ballroom that is really going to be missed,” Lachey told us.

After being in the bottom two himself last week but safe tonight, Lachey said, “It’s a very bittersweet night. We are obviously over the moon to be dancing for another week, but I’m feeling bad because my friend’s going home.”

“The funny is going away,” declared Kirstie Alley. “Joey’s like a three-ring circus in himself. If it becomes all serious [now] I’m going to slit my gonads.” When her partner Maks pointed out that they are pretty amusing themselves, she responded: “We may be funny, but he’s a big chunk of funny.”

No one will be laughing next week: Two couples will be sent home in Tuesday night’s (Oct. 9) double elimination.
