ralph romeo week 8 results 'Dancing With the Stars' results: Ralph Macchio and Romeo vie for a spot in the semifinals

With just three weeks left for “Dancing With the Stars” Season 12, the next two cuts will be the hardest. And though everyone wants to make it to the semifinals, it’s pretty clear that one of two remaining competitors is going home tonight: Ralph Macchio or Romeo.

Ralph, who suffered a rehearsal-halting ruptured cyst last week, failed to impress the judges with with either of his dances during the week 8 performance show. He goes into the results at the bottom of the leader board.

And then there’s Romeo, who many posited would go home in week 7 but outlasted Kendra Wilkinson — only to receive lukewarm scores from the judges in week 8. He’s the second lowest scorer, but he may not have muster the fan power of the injured Ralph.

Both Ralph and Romeo seemed aware of the stakes when Zap2it caught up with them backstage at “DWTS” last night.

“I’ve had a blast,” Rome told press. “We’re near the bottom, but I feel like we’re at the
top right now. I went out there, I gave it my all, and I felt our dances
were great, too.”

Sound a little defeatist? We think so too. Ralph, on the other hand, seems much more optimistic.

“It’s ridiculous how this parallels that story,” says Ralph of his character’s knee injury in “The Karate Kid.” “I just wish I was 16 like he was. It’s up to fans now to give me the boost into the semifinals…. If you want me to crank out the crane, as we get closer to end, that’s the climax of the movie. This is not the climax of the movie.”

When asked why he should stay in despite the injury, Ralph says doctors have assured him he’d be ready to get back to rehearsals after sitting out for four days.

Not that wants any sympathy votes. “We are one of the best couples in the competition.”

Who do you think will head home in week 8 of “DWTS?” Zap2it readers accurately (and overwhelmingly) predicted Kendra last week, so we’re interested in what you have to say…
