tori spelling nc red carpet 325 'Dancing With the Stars': Tori Spelling would be 'a little nervous' to do the showTori Spelling has cheered for her “Beverly Hills, 90210” castmates who have done “Dancing With the Stars,” but she’s not sure she’d follow in their literal footsteps.

Ian Ziering, Jennie Garth and Shannen Doherty have all taken turns on the ABC competition that ended its “All-Stars” season Tuesday (Nov. 27). Spelling might have been persuaded to do the show, too, but she says family matters — specifically, tending to her four children with actor husband Dean McDermott — have decreased the likelihood of that happening now.

“I used to say, ‘Maybe,'” Spelling tells Zap2it, “but it’s gotten so crazy-competitive and so amazing. The people who are doing it aren’t like celebrities trying it, they’re like dancers. I mean, they have Olympians on there who excel in gymnastics. And look at [‘All-Stars’ winner] Melissa Rycroft — she was a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader, so obviously, she’s going to be a good dancer.

“I think it would be embarrassing now to just have actors with no dancing experience,” Spelling adds. “I find myself to be a good dancer, but I don’t know that I’m of that caliber. I think I’d be a little nervous to compete.”

To be seen next as a highly competitive singing-group leader in the ABC Family movie “The Mistle-Tones” Sunday, Dec. 9, Spelling sat in the “Dancing With the Stars” studio audience to support both Garth and Ziering … alias Kelly and Steve to her Donna on the original “90210.”

“They did great jobs,” she recalls. “I was actually surprised that Ian did so well. I didn’t know he had that in him, but Jennie has always been a dancer, so I knew that she’d do well.”

Spelling also was confident that Rycroft and partner Tony Dovolani would pull off the latest “Dancing” victory. “They were getting 10s every time,” she reasons of the show’s finals, “and [eventual runners-up Shawn Johnson and Derek Hough] were getting subtractions because they were doing these amazing things [but breaking rules]. Even if they got all the fans’ votes, that couldn’t compete with what the judges were giving them.

“I loved watching Derek and Shawn, though. That added a whole new dimension. As a fan watching at home, it was an exciting season.”
