Daniel Radcliffe, the man formerly known as Harry Potter, will make his “Saturday Night Live” debut on January 14 during the second new “SNL” of 2012. Hosting the first show of the new year will be Charles Barkley, who had the same honor back in 2010.
The musical guests will be Kelly Clarkson on Jan. 7 with Barkley, and Lana Del Rey on Jan. 14 with Radcliffe.
Although we very much enjoyed Barkley’s last hosting stint, we’re especially excited to watch Radcliffe make fun of himself. The guy’s got a great sense of humor and is not afraid to look silly — nor is he so touchy he can’t poke fun at his own career. The hosts who are 100 percent game for anything are always our favorites — even if they fail at some sketches, it’s hard not to admire their commitment.
Radcliffe wraps up his Broadway run in “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying” in the coming weeks, and stars in the new horror movie “The Woman in Black,” which will be released Feb. 3. Perfect timing to debut his post-“Potter” personality.
