Davidduchovny_tealeoni Another one bites the dust.

David Duchovny may be out of his sex-addiction rehab. But his marriage to Téa Leoni didn’t survive.

"In light of continuous speculation over the lives and marriage of Téa Leoni and David Duchovny, the couple has confirmed that they have in fact been separated for several months," a statement from his camp said. "The couple had hoped to keep this separation private for the sake of their children."

Duchovny and Leoni got married in 1997 and have two kids, a daughter, Madelaine West, 9, and a son, Kyd, 6.

Duchovny recently sold his Malibu home to Mel Gibson for $11.5 million when it was revealed that the couple planned to move East for the sake of their children’s schooling.

Us Weekly writes that in 1997 the actor denied rumors about his sexual appetite.

"I’m not a sex addict," Duchovny told Playgirl, "I have never been to those meetings. It’s hurtful to my family, and if I was involved with a woman in a monogamous relationship, it would be hurtful to her. There was another story claiming I was a neat freak. If I had to choose one of the two, I think I’d rather be a sex addict."

Looks like he picked the wrong addiction. One rarely gets divorced on the grounds of tidiness.

Have you ever known anyone who was a sex addict? Did they get treatment? And did they get better?

All this sex-addiction stuff makes it (more) difficult to watch "Californication." Duchovny playing such a womanizing character makes us feel like peeping Toms. And in this case, that’s not a good thing.
