NBC’s serialized mystery “Deception” has been canceled after a single season.
Zap2it has confirmed that the show’s producers have been notified by NBC that the series is officially not moving forward at the network. That means that even though Vivian Bowers’ killer was revealed in the season finale, his motive is likely to go unexplained. (Barring any unlikely continuation of the series via another outlet or in another form.)
“Deception” averaged 3.63 million viewers and a 1.3 rating in adults 18-49 over the course of 11 episodes.
The lowest rated installment (episode 5) drew just 3.08 million viewers and a 1.1 in adults 18-49. Although six episodes aired after that, the ratings never improved much and the cancellation has been expected.
