Disney triple-threat Demi Lovato has been extremely quiet since she entered rehab in Illinois for “emotional and physical issues” ten weeks ago, especially considering the media attention that’s been given to her and the legal issues surrounding her decision to seek treatment.
However, winning People’s Choice Awards has inspired Lovato to reach out – not to the media, but to her fans directly. Despite her being out of the public eye recently, Lovato’s fans rallied to support her and voted her the winner of Favorite TV Guest Star, for her role as a troubled teenager on “Grey’s Anatomy,” and Favorite Family TV Movie for her role in Disney’s “Camp Rock 2.”
On Saturday, Lovato posted a message on her official Facebook page (her Twitter account was deleted).
“I wish to thank all the friends and fans who voted for me for the People’s Choice Awards and the Hot Hits Hottest Teen Stars of 2010,” she writes. “I want to make sure my fans know how thankful I am for all their love, support, and prayers during this difficult time. Thank you for standing beside me through it all.”
Lovato spent Christmas day outside of the rehab facility with her family and she’s recently been spotted nearby, shopping at Target and bowling with friends from the facility.
