Good news, “Dexter” fans! Showtime has finally announced the highly anticipated Season 7 premiere. Fans can look forward to the return of Dexter (Michael C. Hall), Deb (Jennifer Carpenter), and all the rest on Sunday, September 30, at 9 p.m. EST.
Season 7 brings a very new dynamic to the long-running series, as Deb has finally learned Dexter’s horrible secret… just as she was having a breakthrough in regard to her romantic feelings for her adoptive brother.
David Nevins, Showtime’s President of Entertainment, said at TCA Press Tour in January that this season, Dexter will no longer be a “lone wolf,” given that Deb has seen him kill Travis and he has some explaining to do. Don’t count on Dexter’s murderous side dissuading Deb of her love for him, either.
“That’s a story that will continue next season,” Nevins says. “I’m aware
that there’s a certain taboo despite the fact that they’re not
genetically related. It’s something that has been building for a number
of years, I think… it’s an idea that has informed how they’ve done the
show for a long time.”
The season premiere be followed at 10 p.m. EST by the Season 2 premiere of “Homeland.”
