Lauren Alaina took on Carrie Underwood’s “Flat on the Floor” for her contemporary song during the “American Idol” Top 5 “Now and Then” theme. It was a bold choice, but since Carrie is definitely an Idol Lauren should be styling herself after, also a solid choice.

We thought it was lacked a little punch in the beginning, but Lauren found her groove and really let it loose in the second half. The judges and crowd seemed really into it and it was definitely the most relaxed and fun-having we’ve seen Lauren all season.

Randy told her it was exactly the type of stuff she needs to record and J.Lo loved how much she loosened up. What did you guys think? Were knocked flat on the floor by Lauren Alaina?
