Celebrities break up all the time, and their statements about said breakups range from the passive-aggressive to the downright bitter. It’s rare, though, for a breakup statement to include the phrase, “I can’t fake it anymore.”
When “Bachelor Pad” couple Vienna Girardi and Kasey Kahl went their separate ways, though, there was definitely something fishy about it. On Sunday Nov. 13, Kahl tweeted, “Yes vienna and I have split. It’s been 5 weeks now. I can’t fake it
anymore. I will always love, be there for her, and wish her the best.”
Vienna responded that Kasey ‘will always be my best friend, but yes we have split. No idea what the future holds for us but we will always remain friends.”
So if the couple have been broken up for five weeks — since around Oct. 16 — why have they been “faking it”? It’s one thing to be quiet and private about a breakup. It’s a whole new kind of bizarre to publicly pretend to be all lovey-dovey.
The couple even went to a Halloween pumpkin patch to choose their Jack-O-Lanterns together… and smooched (a lot) for the cameras.
A sampling of Vienna’s tweets from that five-week period when they were privately broken up:
“@KaseyRKahl can you please rub some of your good luck onto me please lol”
“We are back from [Cozumel]! @KaseyRKahl & I had a great time! Going to miss the Presidente Intercontinental Resort, it was unreal!”
“Thank you sweetheart. RT @KaseyRKahl: #gymbinge All my love, thoughts, and prayers are with you today! @ViennaGirardi”
You know your publicity stunt has backfired when you out yourself because you just can’t take the pressure anymore. Kasey easily could’ve announced the breakup without putting a timestamp on it… but instead, he decided to reveal that he and his “best friend” pretended to be dating for five weeks.
Famous people are weird.
