Before she was a Congresswoman for Illinois, Rep. Tammy Duckworth served in Iraq in the National Guard. While there, she lost both of her legs and damaged her arm (and still is at risk of losing it). That’s why her takedown of a contractor who is taking advantage of the military veteran disability services is so full of derision — and rightfully so.

Braulio Castillo, President and CEO of Strong Castle, Inc., managed to receive a service-disabled designation with a rating higher than Duckworth’s. The catch is that Castillo never served in the military for a day; he instead injured his foot playing football at a military prep school. Forty years later, he came forward and argued that he and his family have made massive sacrifices for the United States and thus deserve the benefits granted to him. Needless to say, Duckworth felt otherwise.

Her incredible shaming of Castillo can be watched above. As Duckworth points out, many current veterans are forced to wait over 200 days to have their injuries and disabilities assessed. Hopefully watching a video like this will open a lot of eyes for, and call in some legislation to regulate the “gaming” of the system from people like Castillo. Seriously, shame on him.
