Christmas has come early this year! BBC announced that actor-writer Nick Frost is set to guest star in the 2014 “Doctor Who” Christmas special.
The official “Doctor Who” Twitter revealed on Friday (Sept. 19) that Frost — who’s known for his roles in Simon Pegg-helmed films such as “Shaun of the Dead,” “The World’s End,” and “Hot Fuzz” — will be bringing his winning charm to the Peter Capaldi set.
“I’m so thrilled to have been asked to guest in the “Doctor Who” Christmas Special — I’m such a fan of the show,” says Frost in a statement. “The read-through was very difficult for me; I wanted to keep stuffing my fingers into my ears and scream ‘No spoilers!’ Every day on set I’ve had to silence my internal fan-boy squeals!”
Frost is joined in the episode by Natalie Gumede (“Coronation Street”), Faye Marsay (“The Bletchley Circle,” “The White Queen”), Nathan McMullen (“Misfits”), and Michael Troughton, whose father, Patrick Troughton, starred as the second incarnation of the Doctor. How’s that for a “Doctor Who” conversation starter?
