george-clooney-downton-abbey-season-5-ITV.jpgIt’s no secret that George Clooney and fiancee Amal Alamuddin are “Downton Abbey” fans. But is Clooney guest-starring on the upcoming Season 5?

Sorry, no.

Clooney was spotted filming at Highclere Castle, but it wasn’t for a guest-starring role. E! Online has the scoop — he was filming a “Downton Abbey” parody sketch for ITV’s Christmas charity drive “Text Santa,” which raises money for six UK-based charities each year. The charities for 2014 are Alzheimer’s Society, Guide Dogs, Marie Curie Cancer Care, Teenage Cancer Trust, Together for Short Lives and WellChild.

While it’s a shame we won’t get to see a tuxedoed Clooney going toe-to-toe with the Dowager Countess, you can be sure we’ll be checking out the “Downton Abbey” sketch he filmed for ITV.

“Downton Abbey” returns Sunday, Sept. 21 on ITV in the UK and Sunday, Jan. 4, 2015 on PBS in the US.
