“Downton Abbey” star Michelle Dockery appeared on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” on Tuesday (Dec. 10), where she played a delightful game of antler ring toss with Fallon (video below) and also dished a few details on the upcoming fourth season of the British period drama.
When Fallon jokes that she should just move to the U.S., Dockery says, “I love it here. … I should just do exactly what Dan did and just move here. Dan Stevens, that’s what he’s done.”
Fallon responds, “We can’t even talk about that, we can’t even talk about Dan. We
can’t even talk about Matthew and what happened to Matthew. That was a
shocker, it killed everybody.”
Which is exactly what’s happening on Season 4 of “Downton,” says Dockery.
“Mary’s grieving, obviously, for her dead husband. It takes her a bit of time to move on, but eventually she does. She’s single and” — “Ready to mingle,” Fallon cracks. Though in the clip they show, she’s obviously not ready to mingle just yet.
Dockery also tells a really funny story about Liam Neeson sending her mother a birthday present — just watch the video below; we can’t possibly do the story justice. Neeson and Dockery are starring in the upcoming thriller “Non-Stop,” due out Feb. 28, 2014.
“Downton Abbey” returns Sunday, Jan. 5, 2014 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on PBS.
