Brothers first found fame in 1955 as a winning contestant on the game show, “The $64,000 Question.” Within a few years, she had her own advice program on a New York television station.

Brothers would go on to write a column for Good Housekeeping magazine, which ran for nearly four decades. Her syndicated newspaper column was first published in the 1970s, and was carried in 300 papers at the height of Brothers’ career.

She was also a frequent guest on several game shows and talk shows, and made many guest starring appearances on TV series such as “The Love Boat, “Charlie’s Angels,” “CHiPs,” and “Married with Children.” Her most recent role was on CBS’ “Jag” in 2004.

As an author, Brothers published several best-selling books, including 1982’s “What Every Woman Should Know About Men,” and 1992’s “Widowed,” which she penned after the death of her husband, Milton Brothers, who died in 1989.
