drew brees car accident fake story Drew Brees car accident story is false; Julio Jones also OKWell, at least it’s not a death hoax — we guess.

The latest rumor floating around the internet this weekend was that New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees was involved in a horrific car accident.

A site called MediaFetcher started posting stories about various NFL players being involved in car accidents that left them with two broken legs — wide receiver Julio Jones, quarterback Matt Ryan and Brees were among the ones written about.

However, Brees has taken to his verified Twitter account to assure fans that this news report is 100 percent untrue, writing, “I am fine. Not sure where the car accident story came from. It is not true. I appreciate everyone’s concern but I am ALL GOOD!”

Jones has also dispelled the rumors, writing, “Thanks to all my fam & fans for texts, calls & tweets checking on me. Trust me I’m fine – no accident, no broken legs! #internethoax.”

So, rest assured NFL fans — we don’t know what MediaFetcher was up to, but the stories are bogus.
