willie robertson kids adopted son wife korie gi 'Duck Dynasty' Willie Robertson on adopted son 'Lil Will': Better than meeting the President

“Duck Dynasty” star Willie Robertson and his wife, Korie Robertson, say when they adopted their son ‘Lil Will,’ they didn’t have the money for the adoption fee.
Speaking at the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute’s Angels in Adoption Gala in Washington, D.C., Willie explains, “We said, ‘We’re good for it — we’ll come back.’ … We’ve paid it, by the way.”
Korie was in tears as she accepted the award. “From the moment we found out about [Will], he was ours,” she says . “I swear, I had labor pains the night before I went and picked him up at the foster home he was living at. He’s our child, just like our biological children.”
Willie adds, “I’ve done a lot of cool things in the past couple of years, I’ve been to Super Bowls, I’ve met Presidents — but the best decision we ever made — that made the biggest impact on our life was the adoption of our son Will.”
Willie previously spoke of ‘Lil Will’s’ adoption during a speech he gave at his alma mater, Harding University in Searcy, Ark.
“We went into marriage wanting to know that we wanted to adopt,” Wille says. “He’s biracial, he doesn’t look like us, and it was the most — probably — selfless thing that we had done. Got pregnant a month later … that wasn’t planned. So we have two twins — one weighs 165, one weighs about 65.”
Willie compares the situation to the one illustrated in the Bible. “That’s what God did with us,” he says. “Jesus is [God’s] son, and we are [God’s] adopted children. So I can look at my two sons that I have, and literally see the New testament unfolded right there.”
In addition to ‘Lil Will,’ Willie and Korie have raised foster daughter Rebecca as their own child after first hosting her as an exchange student. “There shouldn’t be kids without homes,” Korie tells People. “It just shouldn’t happen.”
The couple also has three biological children, Sadie, John Luke (‘Lil Will’s’ twin), and Bella. Sixteen-year-old Sadie has recently made a name for herself by designing a line of prom dresses, hosting “American Idol” winner Scotty McCreery at her Sweet 16 party, and starting her own web series, “The New Different,” on YouTube.
